
You need to be in business with an active EIN for at least 2 years. Also, your revenue needs to be at least $250,000 annually. If you're not quite there yet, I have some excellent friends who can help you. Just ask.

This is a biggie... If your mindset is "I'm paying you so you work for me" then we will NOT be a good fit. I am not your employee and I do not want a title in your company unless it also comes with a sizeable percentage of ownership.
It's important to understand why...
Some people get confused when bringing in a consultant. Keep in mind you are commissioning my business to bring my expertise into your business for a fraction of the cost (think Fractional CMO) that you would normally pay for my level of insight, knowledge, and expertise.
If you want to dictate how things are done, or have someone working for you for 60+ hours each week, or fancy endless meetings to "talk about things", you need to hire someone in-house.
Also, in case you don't already know, if you want someone with my background and experience, you can expect to pay up to $25,000/mo or more for someone really good. Half that if you get really lucky. This is vastly unrealistic for most small companies. Just Google “average CMO pay USA” if you don't believe me.
The closest example relative to what I bring to the table is a Chief Marketing Officer with 25+ years in successful, real-world experience will expect around $300k/year in base pay, not including performance bonuses, full benefits, 30+ days of vacation each year, and profit sharing. (That’s about what the last company who hired me to work for them full-time happily paid.)
If you can offer that kind of compensation, along with an ownership percentage, I'll happily consider giving you all my available time to forego my own projects for a predetermined time.
If not, let's keep it real.
I always get paid in advance. No exceptions. (Only employees get paid in arrears, and that ain't me.)
Speaking of pay, you will never have to chase me for my deliverables, so I should never have to chase you for money. Now, maybe we find 50 other things that need to be done outside of the reason you believe you originally brought me in... that just means other things took priority that maybe you were not aware needed done. It happens. You need to keep in mind all the EXTRA stuff we had to do, and know that we'll circle back to the other things as needed and as time permits. I don't "work extra" to also do those things (you need to hire employees for that). My time with you will always be productive. Please, and thank you in advance.
There are no guarantees. You are commissioning me to answer your questions and provide guidance, insight, and instruction based on my extensive experience building and growing businesses. But even multi-million dollar ad agencies don't win every time.
(Consider Jaguar's billion dollar blunder that erased 100 years of the company's heritage and globally caused sales to plummet by an estimated 85%, from 180,000 units in 2018 to just under 27,000 last year. Hopefully they can recover.)
I promise to do everything in my power to help you WIN, but you can't refund the time I put into our work together, so I cannot refund your investment in that time for any reason. None of my past clients over the past 25+ years have had a problem with this. Not one.
I don't work with just anyone. If I don't think it's a good fit, or won't be a fun project, or that you won't honor my boundaries, we simply won't work together. I know this is different than what you're used to - where people usually are happy to take on anyone who can pay... but I have enough of my own projects that I don't need to. I offer this limited service to a select handful of people because I love helping good people win.
But the people with whom I work will always be my choice.
